Kent Hintze, 78, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026. The fourth of five children, Kent was born on January 9, 1948, to H. Reed Hintze and Carol Fisher Hintze. He attended Olympus High School and later graduated from the University Utah with a degree in marketing. For much of his life, Kent called Holladay his home; a place he loved and adored.
He married Kathleen Conaty in 1965, though they later divorced. Kent was the father of three daughters: Kim, Bridget, and Erin. He had two granddaughters (Hailey and Isabel), four grandsons (Zach, Simon, Gus, and Cosmo), and one great-granddaughter (Muse).
Kent’s favorite color was red. He loved dogs, but hated cats (sorry, Isabel). He never drank coffee but would rarely pass up a cold Coke with no ice. To him, potatoes and broccoli were fine, but fresh green bean and asparagus were better. He loved Jazz and 70’s music and didn’t care much for the other stuff. If Kent were an animal, he would be a cow. Why? He didn’t say, though he thought it was a strange question to ask.
His final days went quickly. We thank the staff at Highland Cove and Quality Home Health and Hospice, particularly Megan, Alexis, and Kyler, for the care and kindness they showed Kent.
