Richard (Dick) Vance Poll "Polecat"

October 17, 2008 - our dear father, brother and son, Richard, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in California. Born in 1943 to Harry N. and Maurine V. Poll in Salt Lake City, Richard grew up in the Sugarhouse and East Millcreek areas where he attended Olympus High School and Utah Trade Tech. He loved motorcycles and cars, especially rebuilding and racing his T-bird and Funny Cars. Richard lived in Mtn. View, California, working in the reprographic technology industry for such companies as GAF and Ozalid, and since 1985 has owned & operated Action Reprographics in the San Jose area. Richard was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He married Linda Johnson in 1964. Later divorced. Married his true love, Betty Chatten Zisakis, in 1972. They were later divorced. Betty preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved mother, Maurine; sons, Paul (Kimberly) Zisakis, Salt Lake City, Phillip (Unilda) Zisakis, New Zealand; daughter, Debra (Chuck) Sullenger, California; grandchildren, Anja (Mike) Horman, Salt Lake City, Adrianna, Alexander, and Mishell Zisakis, and Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Ryan, and Shelby Aiono; great grandchild, Hunter Gerald Horman. He is also survived by his siblings, David V. Poll, Judy (Kent) Hutchings, Stephen (Judi) Poll, Nancy (Val) Swenson, Rosemary (Steve) Hawkes, Carole Hoyt, Margie (Mel) Hawkes, and Robert (Christiane) Poll; as well as 150 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Harry N. Poll; brother, H. Ronald Poll; nephew, Jonathon Poll; and niece, Forest Meadow Moyer. Richard also leaves behind his longtime secretary and loyal associate, Francine Meyer, and other employees, Ernie, Mark and Corbin. Funeral services will be held at the Canyon Rim LDS chapel, 3051 South 2900 East, Monday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing held prior to the services 9:00-10:45 a.m. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
