Rita Ann Leupp On September 14, 2022 at 58 years old Rita Ann Leupp has fulfilled her journey on Earth and has begun her next journey. As we celebrate her birth on December 16, 1963 in Gallup, New Mexico we also celebrate her death. As she’s reunited with her own love ones like her parents Louise and David.
By the time Rita was 11 years old she lost both of her parents. She was raised in the Navajo Reservation by her grandmother Nelly Reed with her siblings Cecelia, Donald, and John. Rita was the second child born out of the four.
Living the hardships on the Navajo reservation taught her to work hard at an early age. Throughout her life she carried this mentality. Starting work at a young age. She dedicated her life to her family. She married Elvin Keto and had three boys, Adrian, Gabriel, and Mackenzie. Later in life she remarried to Samuel Torres and had four daughters, Cassandra, Samantha, Mellisa, and Lareina.
She was brave to take on the hardship of being a single mom to the seven children. She had to balance work and family. She was strong, as much pressure she had on her shoulders she carried it well, standing tall, working, sacrificing, and providing as much as she did for her children. She was stubborn and independent, hardly asking for help. Never complaining but being grateful for the blessings she did have, living in the moment. She was also nurturing, competitive and funny in her own ways.
She was a cowgirl, enjoyed listening to George Strait, and going/watching rodeos. She loved to dance, play basketball and baseball. She always made home made meals and was known for her fry bread. She was the big sister, the crazy auntie, the loving mother, and the fun grandma.
