Rita Cristina Mora Bergstrom

December 24, 1931 — May 27, 2009

Rita Cristina Mora Bergstrom passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday evening May 27, 2009, with family by her side. Rita was born December 24, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lucy Sanchez and Isadori Mora. On August 10, 1954 she married Richard Dale Bergstrom.

Rita loved most the time she spent with her family. Her favorites were Friday night pizza and Sunday dinners. Some of Rita's favorite pastimes were playing the "21" tables in Wendover, and her Monday night football pools, she knew nothing about the game but always knew the score.

Rita was last employed for about 17 years with the Salt Lake City School District where she worked in the Child Nutrition Department. She worked with many wonderful people and served many hungry smiles. Some said her kitchen was the best, but what they didn't know was she often brought in her own spices and seasonings.

Rita is survived by her Husband; children, David Scott (Lee), Annette (Carol Ann), Natalie (Steven) Bennett; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Vicki) Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Jamie Lynn Bennett, Anna-Britt Bergstrom, and David Bergstrom; sisters, Della (Harold) Bardsley, Jenny Mora; and brother, Ernest (Ruth) Mora.

She was preceded in death by son, Rich; parents; and 5 brothers, Ruben, Letch, Tony, Isadori, Isy. The family wishes to thank Lifepath Hospice for their loving care and thoughtfulness, especially her nurse Carie and her aid Brenda.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday June 6th at 10:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 S. 2300 E., Salt Lake City.

In lieu of flowers Rita's family suggests donations be made in her memory to either the Alzheimer's Association, 845 E. 4800 S. suite 120, SLC, UT 84107, or to the American Lung Association, 1930 S. 1100 E., SLC, UT, 84106. "We love you and will miss your wit and humor, Good luck on the table in Heaven!"
