Rob Craig Gines passed away on March 1, 2023 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born on September 26, 1950 in Roosevelt, UT to Nile and Evelyn Gines. Rob married Bonnie Mae Carrell on November 8, 1968.
Rob worked in construction for over 40 years. In addition to building his family home, he also built many other homes and office buildings throughout the Salt Lake Valley. He enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to travel across the U.S. and visited China, India, Mexico, Japan, and Peru. He loved crème brûlées and cinnamon rolls and would sneak them, even when wasn’t supposed to have them. He was a cherished husband, adored father and grandfather, loved son and brother, loyal friend, respected colleague, and a generous and beautiful soul with a mischievous spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie, his precious children Lurissa (Pete), Troy (Hadiza), Shaulynda (Chris), Beau, Brandon (Laura), and grandchildren Aisha, Laila, Anya, Emma, Madison, and Samuel. Sister Mary, and several nieces and nephews of whom he was very fond.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Nile and Evelyn. His brothers Brad, Gary, Robert, Billy, Jack and sister Dixie.
Services will be held March 17th, 2023 at 4:00PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 2:00PM to 3:30PM with services at 4:00PM. Rob will be buried at a later date at Francis Cemetery.
