Robert Loren "Spike" Baxter

January 4, 1942 — August 30, 2025

Our beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather departed this mortal life on Saturday, August 30, 2025, surrounded by his family at the home of his son in Riverton, Utah.

His life began on January 04, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah being the youngest child of Delmar Joseph and Loraine Pullan Baxter.

Robert "Spike" married Patsy Lee Dell Baxter on August 03, 1961. They celebrated 63 years together loving and caring for each other. Patsy was the love of his life.

Their love story began at the age of 15 when Robert "Spike" rode his bicycle to her house to visit her every day. At the age of 19, he married the love of his life. They resided in Salt Lake City, Utah and spent time in their cabin during the summer months. In 2004, they moved to Dameron Valley, outside of St. George, Utah. As his beloved wife Patsy's health declined, they moved in with their son to Riverton, Utah.

"Spike" was a hard worker and great teacher to all that knew him. One of his greatest accomplishments, "Spike", was a proud business owner of multiple businesses in the Salt Lake Valley. He became a talented iron worker with many of his creations displayed in his front yard and throughout the home. He was a devoted husband and father to his wife and son and many others in his life. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, hunting, snow skiing, scuba diving in Cabo St Lucas, trips to their Cabin in Strawberry Estates, and Yuma AZ. He was an old car & truck enthusiast, enjoyed restoring them and displaying them at car shows where he won many awards.

"Spike" is survived by his son Todd Matthew (Amy) Baxter; brother Todd Royce grandchildren Candice (Byron) Faux, Danielle Baxter, Christopher Baxter and Karissa Owen; great grandchildren Katelyn and Brayden Farnsworth.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Patsy Lee Dell Baxter; brothers Ronald J. Baxter, Delmar Ray Baxter; mother Loraine Pullan Baxter and father Delmar Joseph Baxter.

For all that knew "Spike", he will truly be missed. He wove a golden thread through our hearts that will never be forgotten.

The family wishes to thank lntermountain Hospice caregivers, and the helping hands they received during this difficult time.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, September 8th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. You may visit with the family prior to services at a viewing from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary.
