Robert "Bob" Hilton our husband, father, grandfather (Grumpy), great grandfather, and friend passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on January 11, 2015, surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born on July 10, 1935 in Salt Lake City Utah to Hyrum Hilton and Ethel Viola Bates Hilton. He grew up with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was sealed to Fae on June 6, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple ensuring our eternal family.
Bob and Fae moved into the Clay Pits, Mountaire Acres. There they raised three children, oldest son Tom, daughter Missie, and Steven the youngest. There was never a better place to grow up. This neighborhood was a haven to many nationalities and wonderful people. The clay in Bob's backyard was a perfect place to cook a full pig for the neighborhood Lu' Au. The "circle" in the street served as the location for many neighborhood parties.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served in many callings, most in the Wilford Ward. They range from Scout Master where several young men achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, to serving with his wife in the Salt Lake Temple until being called to serve in the bishopric as a counselor. He held the office of high priest and was also in the group leadership. One of Bob's favorite things was visiting the members of the ward.
For nearly 40 years Bob was a salesman for United Electric Supply Company. Here he met and enhanced many lives through his gift of talking and listening.
Bob is survived by his wife Fae, son Thomas, daughter Missie, son Steven, grandson Joshua Ashbridge, and granddaughters Jessika, Ashley (currently serving a mission in Argentina), Emma, Micah, and Riley Hilton, as well as his playtime friend, great grandson Linkon Ashbridge. He is preceded by his mother Ethel, father Hyrum, and brothers Wayne and Lamar.
Dad thank you for all you have done for us. We are thankful for the time we have had and will have with you. We are grateful to know that we will all be together again. So for now go and dance down Main Street in Disneyland! We will find you soon enough and join you.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Wilford Ward located at 3179 South Highland Drive, S.L.C. UT. Viewings will be held on Thursday night, January 15, from 7 to 9 P.M. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and Friday prior to the funeral services from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the Wilford Ward. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery located at 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, UT.
