Robert Russell Carlson

May 14, 1957 — December 11, 2022

Robert Russell Carlson (Age  65) Passed away on Dec. 11,2022 in Sandy, Utah  at home with his family.  He was born on May 14, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Russell Harry Carlson and Patsy Joyce Madill.  He was married to Tamara Jo Naccarato on April 24, 1977 in Elko, NV.
Bob’s favorite thing to do was riding his motorcycle with his boys.  He loved spending time with his family playing cards, riding his Razor or 4 wheelers,  doing bar b ques or just hanging out watching his westerns .  He always loved to tease his sons by letting them know he had “Good Kids “   his dogs. He loved seeing the reaction he would get  whenever he would say that. He always loved going to Wendover when he could. He loved to gamble regardless the game. Bob became quite the KSL shopper always out looking for that deal, and oh boy he thought everything  he bought was a deal of a life time.
Bob painted for 47 years and was a third generation painter, his grandfather, and father were both painters. He had a rare skill trade to match colors perfectly by sight.  He taught all 4 boys how to paint at one time or another.  He started his own painting company Carlson and Sons that he worked for 20 years. He had the opportunity to work side by side with his father Russ Carlson, son James Carlson, and his wife Tamara Carlson.  Bob really had a passion for perfection in his work, Bob still continued to work up until his last days, he was very stubborn and nobody was going to tell him any different,   He was not going to let anything, or anyone stop him from doing his jobs.
Bob was not the greatest at displaying his emotions, but he cared deeply about his wife, children, and his grandchildren, very much. He loved all of his family more than words can describe.  His daughter in laws held a special spot in his heart, they always managed to find a way to get him going, make him smile, and always making his favorite dishes. They were his daughters he never had and loved all of them very much.  He always had a big smile and wide eyes when he would see his grandchildren; they defiantly kept him on his toes.   They all made his world and truly meant everything to him. Bob was truly grateful for his wife Tami always there by his side no matter what happened.
He is survived by his wife Tamara Jo Carlson, Sons  and daughter (in-law’s)– Jeremy  and (Chelsey) Carlson, James and (Jillian) Carlson, Cody and (Brooke) Carlson, and Jason and (Bailey) Carlson.  He has 8 amazing grandkids that were the light of his life.  Zack, Michael, Kayson, Cara, Harper, Gracie, Corbin, and Hunter.  His fur babies   Shadow and Sasi were always by his side and meant the world to him.
He is preceded in death by his father , mother and older sister Susan.
