Robin Colin Hansen

August 14, 1952 — October 15, 2025

Robin (Rob) Colin Hansen, 73, of Kearns, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, after bravely battling lung cancer. He was surrounded by love at his daughter’s home in Gilbert, Arizona, with his devoted wife by his side.

Rob was born on August 14, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lynn Morris and Jessie Moyes Turner Hansen.

He grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Olympus High School. Rob worked as an auto mechanic for many years at Clark’s Auto in Salt Lake City before following his passion and opening his own business, RH Automotive, in South Salt Lake. Even after retiring in 2016, he continued working part-time at Hansen Marine in South Salt Lake during the spring and summer months, always keeping himself busy and doing what he loved.

In 1982, Rob married Leann (Knowlden) Hansen, and together they raised their children and built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They especially enjoyed boating and making cherished memories together in Yellowstone.

Rob will forever be remembered for his gentle heart, humble spirit, and quiet strength. He was a man who showed love through his actions—always ready to help with a car repair, a home project, or anything someone needed—never asking for anything in return. His kindness, honesty, and patience touched everyone who knew him, and he rarely had a negative word to say about anyone or anything.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. One of his favorite songs, Calling Elvis by Dire Straits, never failed to bring out his signature little dance that made everyone lucky enough to see it smile. He adored his cats, who could always count on him for their daily treats, and he loved playing golf—often joking that while he might not be the best golfer, he could always count on being consistent.

Above all, Rob will be remembered for the warmth and steadiness he brought into the lives of those around him—a quiet, unwavering love that will be deeply missed.

Rob is survived by his loving wife, Leann Hansen; his children, Michaela (Robert) DeLancy, Geoffrey (Kimberly) Hansen, and Britany (Todd) Sandoval; and twelve grandchildren: Addisen Aldridge, Keelan Lama, Emma DeLancy, Aylen DeLancy, Breckett DeLancy, Colin Hansen, Adrian Hansen, Zachary Hansen, Amiya Hansen, Mythanial Sandoval, Isabella Juengel, and Tad Whitmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Russell Hansen.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026, with the date and time to be announced later.

The family wishes to thank Holy Cross Hospice of Arizona, Dr. Pearl (Utah), for their support, care, and compassion.
