Rodger Owen Busenbark, age 65, passed away unexpectedly May 9, 2011, at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Rodger was born January 31, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Owen and Grace Busenbark. Married Leslee Jean Calkins on April 10, 1981.
Rodger graduated from Jordan High School in 1964. Rodger worked for over 20 years for Sperry Univac. Rodger loved cars and racing. Rodger was a very patriotic man and loved World War II history. He was a member of the Confederate Air Force and the President of the World War II Preservation Society. He was a great lover of animals. He called his pets his "children" and had many "children" over the years. Rodger was a very kind and gentle man and will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.
Rodger is survived by his wife, Leslee, his sister Sharen Mertin (Larry), niece Debbie (Alan), nephews Jim, Kevin (Sherry), Chris, and Brad. Rodger is also survived by his beloved "girls" (cats and a chicken) Mellie Belle, Patches and Rosie.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Morris and Odell.
Graveside services will be held on Monday May 16, 2011 at 11:00am at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, enter at 1765 East 3300 South. Private family will gather prior to graveside. Online tributes and messages may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
