Ronald Hal Duffin passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at his home in the evening hours of January 30, 2023. Ron was born on September 12, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the eldest child to Hal and Joyce Duffin. Ron attended Kearns High School, where he played football and graduated with the class of 1970. Ron was always a fun-loving person who would never pass up the opportunity to make a joke. His uplifting spirit brought many smiles and much laughter for his friends and family. Ron was also a hardworking and ambitious man who was dedicated to creating a career that would provide for his family. This helped lead the way into creating a successful steel detailing business with two of his dear friends, Mountainview Steel Detailing, where he worked for over 30 years until he joyfully retired at the age of 66.
On February 18, 1972, Ron married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Rebecca Winget. Ron’s love for his sweet wife was everlasting and undying throughout their nearly 51 years of marriage. He cherished every moment he had with her and was always quick to brag about how amazing she was. Becky was Ron’s soulmate who he thoroughly enjoyed having by his side throughout his wonderful journey of life. His love for his wife was deeper than words can express and was a love that could be felt by all those around him. Together, they had four children whom they have loved and cherished their whole life.
Ron was a beloved father and role model who always provided love, guidance, and support to his children and grandchildren. He was always quick to pick you up when you were down with his words of encouragement. Ron enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids playing sports, dances, recitals, and other activities. He could always be heard cheering, and sometimes yelling from the stands. Ron loved spending time in the outdoors with his family and provided his children with many memories spent camping, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor adventures.
Ron was passionate about the outdoors, and he was an avid big game hunter. He shared his passion of the outdoors with his sons and grandkids by taking them out with him from a young age. Every year he looked forward to making memories with them in the mountains. Some of his fondest memories he would share in stories were about his grandkid’s successful hunting trips. Ron’s love of hunting provided him the opportunity to be a hunting guide at Redd Ranches. Redd’s was his “home away from home” where he created many long-lasting relationships that he cherished. He was quickly considered family with his hunting group because of his kind heart and willingness to help others.
Ron was preceeded in death by his father Hal Duffin and mother Joyce Duffin. Ron is survived by his wife Rebecca Duffin, brother Lynn Duffin, sister Lynda Healy, his daughter Amy Gagnon (Justin), eldest son Jason Duffin, middle son William Duffin (Alicia), youngest son Kevin Duffin (Tessa), seven grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close family friends that are considered part of the Duffin family. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be sorely missed and will never be forgotten.
