Ronald Earl Hills

Ronald Earl Hills passed away on May 25, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born on December 10, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Earl Hills and Claire Anderson. He married Nan Rae Cooke on June 12, 1965. 

Ron was a graduate of West High School class of 1958 and attended the University of Utah. He served in the Utah Air National Guard. Upon his honorable discharge, Ron worked at Souval Brothers before going to work for Victor, which eventually led to his purchase of RVP business machines in 1975. Ron became a pillar within the national office machines dealer association and ultimately served the industry he loved as the president of the Western Office Machines Dealer Association.

An avid hunter and golfer throughout his life, Ron also spent many years building and flying model airplanes. Ron and Nan moved to Mesquite, Nevada, in 2011, where they pursued their love of golf and spending time with family and friends.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nan (Cooke) Hills, his children Michael Hills (Alicia), Robert Hills (Skye), Miranda Cook, and Ricky Adams. His grandchildren, Rachel Hills, Taylor Hills, Jimmy Fleck, and his great-grandchild, Cambrian Fleck. He also leaves behind his sister Joy Carrier and her daughters Bonnie, Penny, and Julie, whom he loved dearly, as well as many friends who became family.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Hills and Claire Anderson, his sister, Linda Huber, and his best friend, Duane Carrier.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM.

Interment will take place following the services at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
