Ronald Harrison Plath

December 19, 1945 — January 21, 2014

Ronald Harrison Plath passed away from cancer in Willis, Texas with his dear brother Bill, by his side, holding his hand. Ronnie valiantly fought many cancers and hung on till the end like a pit bull. Unfortunately, he could not hang on any longer and lost his battle. He was born in Great Falls, Montana to Reynold and Alice Dear Plath.

As a small boy, he had worked the ponies with his mother at various fairgrounds, providing pony rides. Ronnie enlisted in the United States Navy June 3, 1967 and was called to active duty June 13, 1969. He served in the Seventh Fleet as a Radioman, during combat support operations and was Honorably Discharged June 2, 1973. After his service, he went on to College and graduated with a Degree in Engineering. Ronnie worked until retirement, as a Civil Engineer for the U.S. Forest Service. During this time, Ronnie married Therese, who preceded him in death April 27, 2013. Ronnie loved to tinker on his cars, enjoyed history, and was very interested in researching his ancestry.

Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by sisters, Adeline and Beverly; brothers, William (Billie) and Robert. Special thanks to Billie for several months of care given to Ronnie. Ronnie and Billie grew extremely close these last few months. Also, thanks to Rina, his niece, for the care given to him in SLC.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday January 30, 2014 in the Chapel at the Utah Veteran Memorial Park Cemetery, 17111 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah. Online memories and tributes can be posted for the family at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
