Ronald W Mcghie

January 23, 1950 — June 12, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald W McGhie, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, huntsman, fisherman, golfer, avid movie watcher and contagious plane lover. Ronald left this world on June 12, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of humor and cherished memories.
Ronald was born on January 23, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to his loving parents, Don and Louise McGhie. He grew up alongside his siblings, Jone (John), Kathy (Dave), and Stacy (Jerry), forming deep bonds of love and lifelong support. Their shared experiences and unwavering sibling bond created a strong foundation that carried them through the ups and downs of life.
A defining chapter of Ronald’s life was his proud service as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He dedicated a portion of his life to spreading love, faith, and goodwill as he embarked on a mission in Germany. Ronald’s time as a missionary shaped his character, deepened his spirituality, and instilled in him a profound sense of compassion and understanding for others.
Throughout his life, Ronald remained steadfast in his faith and actively participated in the LDS community. His devotion to his beliefs was unwavering, and he found solace, guidance, and strength in his relationship with his Heavenly Father.
Ronald’s devotion to family was exemplified through his role as a father, grandfather, brother and son. He built a beautiful family filled with love and laughter. Ronald’s children, Heather (Donn), Teak (Amy), BreAnne (Bob), and Rory (Casey), were the center of his world. He provided them with guidance and support, instilling in them the values that would shape their lives.
As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Ronald found immense joy and purpose in the presence of his grandchildren. Lily, Ashton, Bailey, Daisy, Preston, Parker, Brockton (Shelby), Makayla (Carson), Cooper, Rylee and Cooper R were the lights of his life. He embraced the role of “Grandpa Ron” and “Papa Ghie” with open arms, showering his grandchildren with unconditional love, wisdom, and laughter. The memories created with his grandchildren will forever be cherished and serve as a testament to the extraordinary bond they shared.
Beyond his family, Ronald touched the lives of many through his warm heart, generosity, and selflessness. He was a pillar of strength in his community, always willing to lend a helping hand and bring comfort to those in need. Ronald’s impact on others extended far beyond his immediate family, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
