Rosalie “Pinky” Almond

January 27, 1945 ~ January 18, 2024

Rosalie “Pinky” Almond passed away peacefully surrounded by her sweetheart and sons on January 18, 2024, in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on January 27, 1945, to Celia Hernandez in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised by her grandparents, Jesus and Angelina Arenaz in Glendale, Utah.

She met the love of her life, Russell Almond, at Glendale Junior High and it was love at first sight. They were married on May 3, 1965, and started their lives together in Granger, Utah with their three sons: David, Terry, and Brant.

Rosalie was a wonderful mother and a strong supporter of her boys in their sports and schooling events. She enjoyed being the “Team Mother” to each of her son’s individual teams. Raising her sons was her greatest accomplishment.

Rosalie had many talents, including sewing, painting, cooking, floral design, making porcelain dolls, and was also known for HER own design of Cabbage Patch Kid collection. She enjoyed the finer things in life, spoiling her grandchildren, a hobby for shopping, fashion, and traveling. Rosalie made a friend everywhere she went in the community; she had a presence that emulated friendship and love. She had a charming laugh and a unique sense of humor.

She had many jobs through the years, but her favorite job was taking care of her dear husband, Russell. Rosalie worked for Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries where she made many friendships, her most endeared friend she made at Memorial was Valinda. Her compassionate heart allowed her to help families with their burial and pre-planning arrangements. She also spent time with one of her dearest lifelong friends, Ralphine, and together they performed catering services for various professional events.

Rosalie is survived by her beloved husband, Russell Almond, sons: David (Lisa) Almond, Terry (Robin) Almond, and Brant (Aida) Almond, grandchildren: Laura, Kortney, Nikki, Shelby, Whitney, Samantha, Joshua, Patrick, and Macey, and 9 great-grandchildren, brothers: Richard Corral and Daniel (Shauna) Corral, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Jesus and Angelina Arenaz, her mother, Celia Hernandez, her biological father, Exdor Romero, brothers: Johnny Arenaz, Gilbert Arenaz, Jesse Arenaz.
