Rosemarie Stanton Peck, known to most as “Cookie”, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the young age of 82, at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she lived with Amy and Justin. She was born August 10, 1943, in Wilson, New York, and was the beloved daughter of Blake and Catherine (Vernon) Stanton.
Cookie married Michael Glen Peck on December 5, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their life together was marked by love and devotion. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and generously served in many capacities, including Primary, Young Women’s, and Relief Society. Cookie touched many lives through her dedication to her church community. She lived in Rose Park for over 45 years and became a cherished part of the neighborhood, well-known for her annual yard sales that brought people together.
Cookie loved sending and receiving cards and letters, keeping in touch with family and friends. During her children’s and grandchildren’s school years, she helped with many school projects and was involved in PTA, fundraisers, and school field trips. She was always eager to participate in activities that enriched the lives of those around her. She was known for her outgoing personality and her boundless energy, always finding something to do. She enjoyed riding her bike, reading, and creating beautiful crafts with plastic canvas, her favorite being the Christmas tree tissue box and the bird feeder. She also enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for family and friends.
Cookie worked with Western Foods, a catering company, a job she truly loved. She also helped her dear friend, Nola Bartlett, by cleaning, running errands, and helping with various projects. She was always willing to give a helping hand, and along with her busy schedule, she always found time to take care of her family.
In March of 2014, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced that challenge with courage and a good sense of humor, which resulted in ten years cancer-free.
Cookie is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle Wickham (John), and Amy Bailey (Justin Payne); her grandchildren, John, Caitlyn, Corbin, and Shyanne; and her great-granddaughter, Juniper. She is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy (Michaela) and Gary (Nadine), and many dear nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Glen Peck; her parents, Blake and Catherine Stanton; her sisters, June and Mary Lou; and her brothers, Charlie and David.
Rosemarie “Cookie” Peck will be remembered for her faith, generosity, and zest for life. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We kindly invite family, friends, and all those who wish to pay their respects. A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:45 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM.
