Ruth Patricia (Mcdonald) Temple

Dec 11, 1918 — Dec 27, 2015

Our beloved mother, Ruth Patricia McDonald Temple, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the age of 97 years.  Pat was born December 11, 1918 to Heber Miner McDonald and Ruth Annie Winter McDonald in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She grew up in Utah, primarily in Salt Lake City, where she graduated from South High School and later from the University of Utah. While at the "U" she joined Delta Gamma sorority, serving as chapter president and as president of the Pan Hellenic Council.  She met her husband to be, Keith Temple, during this period of time. They were married October 18, 1939.  From that point forward she was a homemaker and a constant companion to her husband, often helping him in his business.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1956.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was most always found serving in Primary, often as the pianist. She had a gift for playing the piano and could play almost anything by ear. Long after she was having difficulty with many activities of daily living she could still play her piano. Pat and Keith had four children--Anthony, Pamela, Lauren, and Lance--, ten grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.   She was a faithful spouse, faithful mother, and faithful member of the Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Keith, and her daughter Lauren. She is survived by her children Anthony (Mary K), St. George UT, Pamela (Brent) Evans, Salt Lake City UT, and Lance (Peggy), Salt Lake City UT.

The family expresses gratitude to the caregivers at Canyon Creek Assisted Living where she was living at the time of her death and to Hospice for Utah for their caring service.

There will be a private family service, on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East. Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
