Ruth Kirkham Nielson

Ruth Nielson passed away at the age of 96, peacefully asleep in her home.

Ruth was born March 20, 1914 in Lehi, Utah, to Nettra Peterson and Arthur Jesse Kirkham. On April 7, 1942, she married Jay Peter Nielson for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ruth was devoted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved the Mount Olympus 10th ward dearly. She loved to walk the neighborhood and visit with anyone she could. She always had to take care of people, and was always worrying about someone other than herself. She had many close friends that she loved very much.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Ramona (Raymond) Beuk, grandchildren, Eric (Carolyn) Beuk and Crystal (Nathan) Cowley, great-grandchildren Hannah and Rebecca, sister-in-law, Carol Black, and her faithful companion, Shadow. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Mount Olympus North 10th Ward Chapel, 3640 E Millstream Ln (3510 S). Viewing from 10:30-11:30 a.m., services at 12 Noon, followed by interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
