Ruth Mary Belnap Parry was born 22 November 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed to her Heavenly home on April 18th 2024 at the home of her son Kent Parry in Woods Cross, Utah.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David W. Parry, her parents - Earl and Myrtle Belnap, siblings - Reid Belnap, Glenna Busath, Shirlene Fox, Marion Belnap, and daughter-in-law Tamara Parry.
Surviving are her four children: Joyce Hendricks (Scott) Virginia, Mark Parry (Beverly) Texas, John Parry (Tawna) Colorado and Kent Parry (Kim) Utah, seventeen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Ruth married David W. Parry April 1, 1949 in the Salt Lake Latter-day Saint Temple. Ruth was a woman of great faith and had a deep love of the Savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many Church callings including serving a Senior Couples mission with her husband to Pennsylvania.
Family was important to Ruth. Sunday family dinners were the highlight of her week. She loved having family come to visit. In her younger days, Ruth was an accomplished violinist, often sharing her music with other church congregations. She was a dedicated and loving Elementary school teacher. She once wrote how she “loved the creativity that school teaching offered her.” Ruth became an accomplished artist and was invited to exhibit in several shows. She often gifted her paintings to family and friends. Gardening was another of her favorite activities and she had a special fondness for her roses. Ruth enjoyed sewing and quilting. She made over 100 baby quilts for a service project in South Salt Lake. She loved singing in the ward choir.
A Memorial service and visitation will be held Sunday, April 28th at 7:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Sants chapel located at 1985 East and 3900 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
