Ruth Helen Haltinner Stevenson

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and devoted wife passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024 at the age of 94 surrounded by her daughters.

Ruth was born June 23, 1929 to John and Rose Haltinner. Ruth married her sweetheart Kenneth C. Stevenson in the Salt Lake Temple June 24, 1948 after he returned from serving honorably in the Navy during World War II.

Ruth’s life was centered around her husband and her 3 daughters. She taught the girls how to knit, crochet, and cross-stitch. Ruth was also an excellent seamstress. She made her girls School, Easter, and Christmas dresses. Ruth loved to travel. Her favorite destination was her semiannual trip to Palm Springs with her beloved Ken.

Ruth served faithfully in her church callings. She served in the Young Women’s organization for 22 years. She also served in Primary and an extended mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Auditing Department.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Kathleen (Michael) Omer, Sandra (William) Mack, Kristine (Nick) Bourdos; her brother, Erwin (Sharon) Haltinner, 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Each knew that they were loved.

Services will take place on Monday, April 15 at Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah. There will be a Viewing from 10-11 prior to the funeral services from 11-Noon. Interment will be at the Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
