Ruth Christianson Sutherland

Ruth Christianson Sutherland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. She was born June 15, 1918 in Fairview, Utah, the daughter of Fredrick and Sarah Brady Christianson. She married Richard James Sutherland on May 22, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Ruth was a life-long devoted and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in numerous church callings, completed a full-time mission and worked in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved to study the gospel and had a unique ability to share her gospel knowledge with others in a humble and inspiring way. She was loving, compassionate and dedicated her life to helping others. As a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her, she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Goff, Rick Sutherland, and Pamela Sutherland; her sister, Edith Roberts; eighteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Sutherland; her brother, Woodrow Christianson; her sister, Cecil James; and her son, Randy W. Sutherland.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 12:00 noon at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to services.
