Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth Ingeborg Wolfert passed away peacefully at home in her sleep in Cottonwood Heights, Utah on October 23, 2026. Ruth was born on September 27, 1933, in Luebeck, Germany to Oswald Horst Adler and Elfriede Katharina Wilhelmine Berta Kock.
As a young girl Ruth experienced perilous times during the second world war in Germany. Later she worked as an apprentice in her father's photo studio, eventually becoming a journeyman and master's candidate in photography.
In 1954 she accompanied her mother to America, planning to return home after a few months. However, while there she met and eventually married her sweetheart, Ernest Erich Wolfert. They started their family in Wisconsin and later moved to Salt Lake City where they raised their 4 children: Mark Wolfert (Carol) of Alpine, Utah; Annette Harkness (Wallace) of Orem, Utah; Trent Wolfert (Cindi) of Mission Viejo, California; and Serell Campbell (Robert) of Sandy, Utah.
She is survived by her four children, 12 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest (2021) and by her sister Ursula Krenusz (2010).
Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep conviction and testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. Her happiest and most cherished memories are of being a mother in Zion and being sealed for eternity in the temple to her husband of 65 years.
Internment will be at the Memorial Mountain View Cemetery at 3115 E Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
