Scarlet Rebecca Smith

Aug 26, 2026 — Sep 3, 2026

Our precious daughter, Scarlet Rebecca, lovingly known as “Miss Scarlet,” was born on August 26, 2026, at the University of Utah Hospital, alongside her twin sister, Saige.

Scarlet entered this world at just 25 weeks gestation, weighing less than two pounds. Though she was the smallest of our little girls, she was surrounded by an immeasurable amount of love from the very moment she arrived.

For one precious week, Scarlet fought vigorously in the NICU. She was a quiet little girl, but the nurses who cared for her quickly discovered that she had a personality all her own. They lovingly described her as “spicy,” and anyone who met her could see that there was so much strength and spirit packed into her tiny body.

On September 3, 2026, Scarlet peacefully passed away at the University of Utah Hospital. She left this world with a beautiful smile on her face—a final, precious gift to the people who loved her more than words could ever express.

Scarlet was deeply loved by her parents, Arianna and Paul, her big brother, Ezra, and her twin sister, Saige. She was also cherished beyond measure by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, all of whom welcomed her into their hearts and will carry her memory with them for the rest of their lives. Though many of them had only a short time to know her, Scarlet made an everlasting place for herself within her family.

She will forever be a daughter, a sister, a twin, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, and a beloved little girl whose place in our family can never be replaced.

While her stay here on earth was short, her impact left a lasting impression on those who loved her. In only one week, she taught us about strength, courage, love, and the extraordinary power held within even the tiniest of lives.

Our sweet Miss Scarlet, you were here for far too little time, but you were loved for every second of it—and you will be loved for all of ours.
