Sharon Lee (Burt) Ringwood

Nov 15, 1937 — Apr 14, 2023

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sharon Lee Burt Ringwood passed away April 14, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away unexpectedly due to complications from pulmonary hypertension. Born November 15, 1937, to Wallace LeRoy and Lavella Taggart Burt. Sharon was the oldest of five children.

Sharon was born and raised in Salt Lake City and attended South High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Howard Lee Ringwood, and together they welcomed seven children into their family. Sharon devoted her life to loving and teaching her children, while also working to care for injured and sick animals and loving the children on her school bus.

Family meant so much to Sharon. She loved spending time with extended Burt and Ringwood families, often altogether. She cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

With her husband she was able to serve a full-time mission in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. While serving, Sharon developed lifelong relationships with many that she served and taught.  She served faithfully in the Church her whole life, answering every calling with love and devotion. Sharon was beautiful inside and out and lived life with great faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, and that faith never wavered.

Following Howard's death in 2014, Sharon continued to develop her talents and while in her 80's became a skilled and prolific painter. She spent countless hours honing her skills and shared this talent with her family. No one ever left her home without a painting and without feeling loved and appreciated.

Sharon is survived by her seven children: Jane (Clyde) Latta, Burt (Cathy), Michael (Rosalie), Angi (Dennis) Hilton, Cindy (Scott) Russell, Wayne (Dianne), and Heidi Barlow. She is also survived by her brothers, Roger, Clark, and Scott Burt, and her sister Donna Gillespie. She leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by three granddaughters, Misty, Brandy, and Britta.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Mill Hollow Ward Building, 2522 East 6710 South, Cottonwood Heights.
