Sharon Dodge Herd

Sharon Herd, age 81, our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away September 26, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sharon was born in Salt Lake City to Beth Mosby and Robert E Dodge. Married Ronald Phillips in 1959 (later divorced). Married Homer B. Herd in 1974 (later divorced).

Sharon was a very talented person. She was a phenomenal artist, cook and seamstress. She loved bowling and participated for many years in a bowling league. Her compassion extended beyond her human family to the animal kingdom. Throughout her life, Sharon loved and cared for a colorful array of pets, ranging from dogs and tropical birds to a memorable pet spider monkey. Sharon also contributed to many animal foundations.

Sharon’s greatest wealth was her family. She is survived by her children, Ronald Herd and Jami Phillips; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and five great- great grandchildren; a brother, Robert M. Dodge, and a sister, Nancy Russell.

Preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson.

Sharon’s warmth, creativity, and love for her family will be deeply missed and forever celebrated by all who knew her.

Graveside services are Friday, October 2nd, at 1 o’clock at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan.
