On Jan 15, 2026, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend to all she met, Shauna Leslie Ball Pfaff, was called home suddenly. She developed a rare complication of the flu and before we could blink, her beautiful earthly presence was gone.
She is the first of Harold and Patricia Ball’s four children, followed by Cheri, Vickey, and Jeff whom she loved with all her heart. She graduated in 1967 from Skyline High School along with her sweetheart, Tom Pfaff. They married in July 1970 and had 3 children, Tami, Kim, and Nick, who were all raised in Sandy, Utah. The greatest joys in her life were the grandchildren that followed: Connor, Grace, Hayden, Sean, Ocean, and Repin. Watching them grow, attending their multiple dance, music and sporting events, and dropping everything whenever one of them needed or wanted her was her fierce mission.
After her children were older, she went back to the University of Utah and received a double BS in Behavioral Science & Health and Psychology. She went on to work at Fidelity Investments for many years where she made many friends (the “Schnookums”) and was known to get in trouble for having too many personal conversations with the callers.
She was a person who truly loved other people. She would strike up a conversation with anyone and know their life story in a matter of minutes. She loved being out in her yard and spoiling her many dogs. She never wanted to miss any family event and never ever wanted anyone to feel left out or unloved. She was a pure, beautiful and kind soul, and to quote one of the many very appreciated messages we have received “Heaven just got a little brighter”.
She gave her family endless laughs and “Shaunaisms” that will help us navigate and aid in the healing of this hole that is left in our hearts. Those of us who were lucky enough to know and love her will do our best to carry her torch.
She leaves behind her loving and heartbroken husband, Tom, who has been her faithful and ever-present companion in the beautiful life that they built together for 60 years.
Survived by her husband Charles Thomas Pfaff, her children Tamara Dangerfield (Allan “Geno” Echols), Kimberly Roberts (Kyle), and Nick Pfaff (Chandee). Her grandchildren, Connor and Grace Dangerfield, Hayden and Sean Roberts, and Ocean and Repin Pfaff. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold Glenn Ball, and Patricia Ball Cofer, stepmother Karen Ball and by her beloved sister, Cheri Ball Betourney.
