Shirley Bergstrom, born on September 3, 1936, in Meeker, Colorado, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Shirley’s long and vibrant life was marked by a deep love for family, a passion for the outdoors, and the pursuit of creative hobbies that enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her adventurous spirit and diverse interests. She found joy in camping and fishing, savoring the quiet moments beneath open skies and by the water’s edge. Her enthusiasm for motorcycle riding and horseback riding reflected her boundless curiosity and fearless approach to life. Shirley was equally at home on the dance floor and among friends, often found singing with a bright, welcoming voice that brought warmth to every gathering. In quieter moments, she poured her skill and patience into cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces that are cherished reminders of her talent and care.

Shirley shared many years with her beloved husband, Jack Bergstrom, with whom she built a foundation of love and companionship. Together, they made lasting memories and set an example of devotion for all who knew them.

She is survived by Jackie Girardo, Joe Bergstrom, Char Bergstrom, Cody Bergstrom, five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Shirley’s nurturing presence and affectionate embrace shaped the lives of her family’s younger generations, and the legacy of her love will continue to inspire them.

In addition to her surviving family, Shirley is remembered by the many relatives and friends whose lives she touched along her journey. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Bergstrom, and great grandson, Tyson Girardo whose memories she held close to her heart.

Shirley Bergstrom’s legacy lives on in the enduring bonds she created and the treasured memories she leaves behind. Her loving spirit, adventurous heart, and gentle kindness will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know her.

A private family service will be held per Shirley's request, and interment will be in Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
