Shirley Hutchings Daley

Shirley Hutchings Daley of Sandy, passed away on June 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 25, 1930 in Mapleton, Utah to Vivian Silas and Sadie Marsh Hutchings.
She grew up and attended Springville schools, leaving her senior year to marry her sweetheart, George K. Daley. Shirley and George were married September 6, 1947 in Springville. They were blessed with 5 children. Shirley went to work at Sperry Univac in 1968 retiring from there in 1986.
Shirley had her mom’s love of gardening, sewing and crocheting. She loved working with her hands. She made most of our clothes when we were growing up. Mom could take a piece of cloth and turn it into something beautiful with or without a pattern. She loved to read, watch westerns on TV, loved having company and no one ever left hungry. She always loved unconditionally. She had a wonderful sense of humor that was still intact.
She is survived by her 5 children; Doug Daley (Jani) of South Jordan, Susan Knight (Gary) of Sandy, Linda Warath (Glen) of West Valley, Keith Daley (Darla) of Douglass, Kansas, Cindy Allred (Bob) of Sandy; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Duane Hutchings of Spanish Fork and Boyd Hanson of Navato, California; one sister, Mary Jane Tuttle of Orem, 3 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George; her parents; two brothers, Stanley Hutchings, and Don Hanson; one sister Marcia Hutchings; 4 grandchildren, Shelly Daley, Brandi Allred, Joe Daley and Thom Knight.
Funeral service for Shirley will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held at the mortuary on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the Memorial Redwood Cemetery.Service Information
