Sixto Florindo Martinez

Sixto Florindo Martinez was a beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and brother-in-law, passed away August 4, 2023 peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 95 years old.
He was born on September 25, 1927. He is the son of Canuto and Florentina Martinez in Truchas, New Mexico.
Sixto married Evila Pacheco and had six children. He later married Shirley Romero and they were married for 49 years.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, and later started his successful company known as Martinez Building Maintenance Co.
He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and horseback riding. He was an amazing cook and Craftsman. He enjoyed his Jose Cuervo with family and friends.
He was a devoted Son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and great- great grandfather. He was a dedicated and honorable man to all that he knew. He was an active member of St Peter and Paul Catholic church in West Valley City.
He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Romero Martinez, Sons, George Martinez (Jill), Willie Martinez, Louie Martinez (Joyce Bertha) and Lonnie Milline. Daughters, Linda Martinez, Arlene Martinez, and Liza Martinez, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great- great-grandchildren, and brother-in-law. Sisters, Adelina Sandoval, Nellie Martinez (Orlando), and Brother Elizandro Martinez (Holly), Also survived by many nieces & nephews and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Canuto and Florentina Martinez, Stepson Glenn Martinez; three sisters, Viola Sanchez, Evan Vigil, and Elizaida Sandoval, and grandson Jeff Martinez.
Services will be held on Monday, August 14, at St Martin de Porres church located on 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville Utah. Rosary begins at 10:30 AM with Mass following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery at the Garden of Revelation. Streaming info can be found at Memorialutah.com
