Slava (Boguslawa) Schab, born on Christmas Day in 1948, in Ruda Rózaniecka, Poland to Bronislaw and Janina. At the tender age of 17, she found the love of her life and married Henryk Schab, and together they had and raised three children.
In 1983, after Martial Law was announced in Poland, her husband, who was involved in the Solidarity movement, was arrested and imprisoned, she and the family were granted political asylum and moved the family to the USA, as political refugees. The family of five settled in Provo, Utah, and in 1985, Slava and her husband purchased their dream home in West Jordan, where they lived to their final days. She began working at a hotel and was there for almost two decades, before moving to a bakery, and baking came naturally to her. She finally retired in 2013 to a life of gardening. Her beloved husband passed away only one month before her.
She’s survived by her sister Krystyna, daughter Renata (Marek), sons Mark (Jolanta), Anam-Marcin (Matt), three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will be laid to rest at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, in West Jordan, interred with her husband, in the peaceful and tranquil cremation garden at a later time.
