Stanley June Cloward

June 10, 1934 — September 12, 2025

Holladay

Stanley June Cloward passed away Friday, Sept 12, 2025. Stan had been ill and in declining health. He was 91 years old.

Stan was born in Benjamin, UT on June 10, 1934. He was delivered by his father on the kitchen table because the doctor did not get there in time. When the doctor did arrive, he said everything was fine and congratulated father, Byron Pratt Cloward and mother Edith Olivia Lundell.

Stan was the 4th child in the family, born after siblings Dean Lavon, Georgia VeLoy, Melvin (Pete), and before Raymond L Cloward. He was preceded in death by his parents, and all of his siblings and their spouses. Stan is survived by his wife, Connie Smith Cloward, and four daughters: Kerri Dyer Evans (Brent), Wendy Fagre (Ben), Shelley Austin (Micheal) and Christina Cloward (Daniel). He also has 19 grand-children, and 15 great-grand-children. Stan and Connie celebrated 68 years of marriage last June.

Stan enlisted in the army and served during the Korean war. He was fiercely patriotic and devoted to our country. He graduated from BYU with a BA in Business and received his MBA degree from UCLA. Stan worked in Data Processing management positions for several universities (University of Pittsburgh, University of Alabama, BYU, Baldwin Wallace College) as well as for Salt Lake County.

Stan loved reading good literature, flying miniature helicopters, and most of all spending time with family. Among his callings in the church, Stan served as councilor in two bishoprics, and was on the High Council in Birmingham, Alabama. Though he struggled with serious back problems, his testimony of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints never wavered.

His family will remember him most for his love of flashlights, his clever sayings, his humor, leading them in the "Pink Panther Shuffle," and challenging them to a "Sleep Race" when he was in charge of games on family night.

At the time of his death, he was in Cottonwood Creek Assisted Living Center where he received kind and loving care by both the care center and Inspiration Hospice service. We so appreciate all the excellent care and comfort he received from them.

Flowers may be sent to Memorial Murray Mortuary 5850 S 900 E . Services to be held Saturday, September 27 at the Olympus 5th Ward meetinghouse 3070 E 4140 S . Viewing from 9:30-10:45 am, memorial service at 11.

Thanks to all who knew and loved our wonderful Stanley!
