It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Arthur Prows. Steve was born May 16, 1984, in Bountiful, Utah. Steve left this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024. Steve was a beloved father, partner, son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Steve was a devoted father to his two children, Sophie (15) and Henry (12), who were the light of his life. His love for them was boundless and he took immense pride in their accomplishments, always offering unwavering support and encouragement. Steve particularly loved the time he spent coaching Henry’s lacrosse team, finding great joy in watching his son grow and succeed as a goalie and leader. He also treasured the special bond he shared with Sophie through their mutual love of reading, often discussing their favorite books, characters, and literary themes. As a father, Steve’s greatest joy was found in these moments with Sophie and Henry, whether it was cheering them on at their activities, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the everyday moments of life together.
Steve's partner, Jess, was his soulmate and confidant. Their bond was one of love, respect, and admiration. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and deep affection, and Jess will forever cherish the memories they created together as a family.
Steve's kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched the lives of many. He had a unique ability to connect with people, offering a listening ear and a kind word to anyone in need. His friends and family knew him as someone who could always be counted on, whether for a good laugh or a helping hand.
Steve was deeply passionate about his career in project development. His dedication reflected his commitment to environmentally sustainable solutions. Outside of work, Steve was an avid cyclist, skier, golfer, reader, home chef, handyman, and car enthusiast. Steve often shared stories about the family's experience building a 1967 Mustang convertible, a project that held a special place in their hearts. The car was aptly nicknamed the "Windy Car" by his daughter, Sophie.
Steve is survived by his loving parents Kent and Robin, children Sophie and Henry, partner Jess, siblings Jennifer (Damien), Michael (Sariah), and Stacey (David), and nieces and nephews Jackson, Evie, Oliver, Iris, Otis, Theo and new baby Tanner.
Steve's absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
