Stephen Seely Bott

Steve Bott age 78, passed away peacefully at his home November 6, 2022. Steve was born September 24, 1944 to Boyd Christian and Drucilla Seely Bott in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He married Jeanette Leak in the Salt Lake Temple September 8, 1967, they had 4 children, they later divorced.
When Steve was 16 his family served an LDS mission in Melbourne, Australia from 1960-62. When they returned, he attended Olympus High graduating in 1963.  He was then called to serve an LDS mission in the Southwest British Mission serving in Bristol, England from 1963-65. Steve enlisted in the US Army Reserves in 1966 serving in Ft. Lewis, Washington, then in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, earning the rank of Staff Sargent. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He met his best friend, Steve Tree, while on his mission and they later worked together at the Porterville Sheltered Workshop for the handicapped when he moved his family to Porterville, California in 1984. He served in many positions in the LDS church in California and Utah. Upon returning to Utah, he worked in property management.
Steve loved his family and he loved to drive. He was a great friend to many neighbors and always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone. He enjoyed western movies, the outdoors and tinkering in his garage.
Steve is survived by his children Stephenie (David) Palmer, Steve (LeAnn), Kimmy (Don) Vanderlinden, Boyd (Carrie); 9 grandchildren Heidi (Brandon) Rowley, Courtney Palmer, Natalie (Logan) Graham, Jamie Palmer, Taylor Payne, Casey Vanderlinden (Carl Hansen), Clay Vanderlinden, Garret Bott, Amanda Bott; and 3 great grandchildren Theo, Thad & Ronnie Rowley.
Preceded in death by parents, brother David, sisters Margaret and Drucilla.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm Memorial Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, UT, with a private graveside service for the family.
