Susan Helen Baker Goodwin, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away Saturday May 2, 2026, at age 69 in Murray Utah at Intermountain Medical Center, she was surrounded by a room full of family.
She was born November 10th, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas Lloyd Baker and Helen Olive Hansen Christensen at St. Mark's Hospital.
Susan had a passion for traveling. Some of her favorite places to go were Yellowstone National Park with her sister, then came the love for Cruises with her husband, daughter and grandkids, taking road trips to ghost towns, and finding the best parks in the Salt Lake Valley for her grandkids to play on. She worked at M.R.S. Hobby shop for many years with her sister Lynda and nephew Doug.
M.R.S is also where she met her wonderful husband of almost 27 years.
She loved getting together with family for Breakfast at Carls Jr. Lots of family dinners with dessert and lively conversations. Game nights with her sisters, craft time with friends and family. She always had treats for everyone.
She is survived by her husband Samuel Goodwin Jr, daughter Shannon Thorne (Andrew), grandkids Brinley Biederbeck (Victor), Ryan Mooers (Lilliana), Brady Thorne (Taylor), Zachary Thorne (Alexis), her 11 great grandkids Liam, Declan, Camilla, Luna, Adriel, Estrea, Addilyn, Violet, Aurora, Elliott, and Summit, her brothers Dwight Mielke, Johnny Baker, and brother-in-law Terry Dorsey.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Lloyd Baker and Helen Olive Hansen Christensen, her siblings Paul Mielke, Lynda Clements, Marsha Dorsey, Patsy Cameron, Carol Baker Nelson, Doratha Shepard and many step siblings. Susan's great grandbaby Camila also joins those who will be waiting to greet her in Heaven.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery located at 10055 South State Street Sandy Utah 84070 Friday May 15, 2026, at 11:00am.
