Talia’uli Malohi, 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 9th, 2022. Talia’uli was born in Feletoa, Vava’u, Tonga on December 5th, 1940 to Kalisi Napa’a and Taueli Malohi. He was raised by Latai and Vili Lolohea.
He married Luseane Ngatuvai in Tonga, and they emigrated to Hawaii in 1971 while Luseane attended BYU-Hawaii. He helped improve the lives of his family by sponsoring many of them to the U.S.. He was a supportive and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, relative and friend to many.
Talia’uli is survived by his wife, Luseane, and their six children: Christie (married to Alani), Kevin (married to Connie), Katalaine (married to Jason), Marvin (married to Kuulei), Winnie (married to Loumaile), and Pakineti (deceased). He leaves behind 19 grandchildren: Alysha, Kristi, Marlee, Ben, Kat, Sariah, Liahona, Lupe, Luseane, Latai, Melena’a, Mahina, Pakineti, Heilala, Sione, Fale, Naomi, Joan and Richard, and four great grandchildren: Jayla, Matai, Maniana, Toakase. Talia’uli had many siblings: Netane Kaufusi, Ilaise Lutui, Mina Napaa, Mafi Napaa, Lotu Napaa, Sioeli Kalaleti, Anavaohea Hafoka, Maile Lolohea, Kaufusi Lolohea, and Melena’a Vaifo’ou.
Talia’uli supported his family with careers in construction, manufacturing, and finally as an independent business owner selling kava, allowing him the means to help friends and family.
Family viewing will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery (6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84123), followed by the public viewing at12:30 p.m. Funeral services be held immediately after at 1:30 p.m., with the burial following the services at 3:30 p.m.Service Information
