Tanya Dell Gerholdt Liston

Tanya Dell Gerholdt Liston, 78, of Taylorsville, UT, passed away on May 15, 2026, following complications from brain surgery.

Tanya was born on December 29, 1947, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Marvin and Vanola Mangum.

Tanya dedicated many years of service to the City of Mesa, AZ, where she worked in the accounting department beginning in 1987. She retired in 2016 after a rewarding career. Tanya was known for being intelligent, hardworking, dependable, and respected by all who had the privilege of working with her.

Tanya married Alvin Louis Gerholdt on March 15, 1978. They happily shared 38 years of marriage before Alvin passed away from lung cancer in 2016. They loved to go fishing and take the family on vacations. She held her children and grandchildren close to her heart and cherished every moment with them.

She later met Garry Liston of Taylorsville, UT, and they were married on August 13, 2021. Their five years together brought joy and happiness to them as they loved to travel and visit, revisit old friends.

Tanya is survived by her husband, Garry Liston; her children, Sherri (Rob) Kunzler of Farmington, UT; Becky (Pete) Graham of Martinez, CA; and Robert (Theresa) Gerholdt of Winfield, MO; her stepchildren, Sheila Koepke of Cedar Falls, IA; Kathy (Bob) Burke of Wayne, NE; Adam (Liz) Liston of Taylorsville, UT; 23 grandchildren; and 32 great- grandchildren; her brother Kenneth R. (Debbie) Mangum of Abingdon, MD; her sisters, Ruth (Brad) Phelps of Grantsville, UT; and Phyllis Mangum of West Valley, UT; and her brother-in-law Jim Telfer of Alberta Canada.

Preceded in death by: Parents and sister Marena Telfer and husband Alvin Gerholdt.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Redwood Memorial Estates, located at 6500 So. Redwood Rd., Taylorsville, UT 84123. A viewing will be held that morning from 10:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates located at 6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123 at approximately 12:00 PM.
