Ted Ray Schofield passed away June 7, 2008, due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis. Ted endured his illness as he lived his life with a positive spirit and faith in the Lord.
Ted was born on July 28, 1929 in Spring City, Utah to Gregson and Dolly Schofield. He moved to Salt Lake at 14 years old where he graduated from East High School and the University of Utah. He filled a mission for the LDS Church to Copenhagen, Denmark and served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War.
Ted married his sweetheart, Carol Warr in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1961 and they had four beautiful children. He started his own business, Fineline Business Forms, which he ran successfully until his retirement. Ted served a second full time mission in Pennsylvania with his loving companion, Carol. Ted was an active member of the LDS Church his entire life. He blessed many lives as he faithfully served his Heavenly Father.
Friends brought joy to Ted's life, and he brightened the lives of all he knew. He stayed close to old friends and made new friends easily. He never missed attending his children's events and activities. Ted enjoyed coaching his son's little league teams, boating with his family and he loved BYU Football!
Ted filled many roles in his life. Son, husband, father, brother, businessman, and friend, but Ted's most treasured role was that of "Papa" to his nine loving grandchildren. Papa was the happiest when the kids were close by. They were the apple of his eye and he will live in their hearts forever.
Heartfelt thanks goes out to Millcreek Hospice who cared so well for Ted during his illness. The skill and compassion provided by this organization allowed Ted to remain comfortable in his home, surrounded by his family during his final days. Ted's family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Millcreek Home Health and Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his four children, Suzanne Gallegos, Kristen (David) Dorsey, David (Lisa) Schofield, Paul (Jennifer) Schofield, nine grandchildren, Austin, Jillian, Landon, Dillon, Isabelle, Benjamin, Brandon, Nicholas and Andrew, his sister Darlene Loomis and many nieces and nephews.
