Tedd Dewey Johnson, age 88, died peacefully on July 21, 2010.
He was born September 16, 1921 in Fountain Green, Utah to Franklin Dewey Johnson and Edna Olivia Jensen Johnson. He was the oldest of 5 children. His mother died when he was 9 years old. After Edna passed away, Dewey married Agatha C. (Gay) Anderson and she helped raise him.
He graduated from Wasatch High School.
He married Lois Yorgason November 4, 1942. They were later divorced.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II, serving much of his time in England as a signalman.
He worked for 30 years at Kennecott Copper.
He was active for many years at VFW Post 409 where he served in many capacities, including commander. He also belonged to the American Legion. After he retired he spent much of his time volunteering at the VA Medical Center. The majority of his service there was at the front desk. He received many awards for his volunteer service.
He is survived by his children: Tedd David Johnson, Marilyn (David) Knight, Julie (David) Hill; 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Dean (Renne) Johnson and four sisters: Eva Provost, Lucile Grasser, Betty (Joe) Hilton, Jane (Clift) Jordan. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rex Johnson and Clem Anderson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Holbrook Mortuary 3251 South 2300 East Salt Lake City, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may call prior to the services 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Fountain Green, Utah at 3:00p.m. Online tributes and messages to Tedd's family can be sent at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
