Terence Owen Forward passed away peacefully in his home on July 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, due to the effects of old age, two weeks before his 86th birthday.
He was born in Talywain, Wales on July 23, 1939 to Haydn and Hilda (Roberts) Forward. He spent the first 8 years of his life in Wales, 10 years in Alberta, Canada, and the rest of his life in Utah. He graduated from Granite High School where he played football for Coach LaVell Edwards. He was a great dancer and taught ballroom dancing.
Terry loved the Lord and served a mission to Northern California. He suffered a stroke midway, suffering memory loss, blindness, and paralysis. He was determined to see and walk again and was miraculously healed through a priesthood blessing by then Apostle Howard W. Hunter. He continued to have vacant peripheral vision to the left and a limp throughout his life.
He received his bachelor's degree in Education from Brigham Young University and his master's degree in Behavior Management from the University of Utah.
Terry loved teaching and spent 30 years primarily teaching 3rd grade students. He was especially good at identifying troubled children and helping them excel. His other passion was being outdoors and training dogs, which was just another form of teaching to him.
On July 19, 1985, Terry married the love of his life, Bonnie Frandsen, blending their families. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity.
Terry served God in many capacities, including as a veil worker at the Jordan River Temple; an inner city mission with Bonnie in Salt Lake City; the Church Employment Center in Sandy, Utah; and in various leadership and teaching positions in his ward.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; siblings Chris (Sylvia), Jean (Dan), Kathy (Kerry), and Haydn; children Kevin (Brenda), Daniel (Dee Dee), Todd, Shawna (David), David (Hope), Troy (Synthia), and Jason (Michelle); and numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Geoff, and daughter Monique.
