Teri Lynn Nelson Roberts (60 years) passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born December 28, 1964, in Ogden, Utah to Orvel Dee Nelson and Florence Annette Petty Nelson. She married the love of her life-or as others would call them two peas in a pod, Douglas James Roberts on January 10, 1986, in the Logan, Utah Temple.
She was the youngest of 3 siblings and is survived by her brother Bruce (Terry) Nelson of Logan, Utah; her sister Debra (Alan) Hanson of Cedar City, Utah; and her brother Greg Nelson of St. George, Utah. She is survived by her father, Orvel Dee Nelson and preceded in death by her mother, Florence Annette Nelson.
Teri grew up in Sunset, Utah. She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1983. She later attended The Bryman School graduating as a Medical Assistant in 1989. Upon receiving her certification, she worked at F.H.P in Orem, Utah. She later earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Salt Lake Community College in 2007. Following her graduation, she worked for Intermountain Health Care for the remainder of her career. She was a nurse by profession, but also the unofficial neighborhood clinic – dispensing Band-Aids, advice, and just the right amount of sass to anyone who showed up at her door.
She was a devoted wife and a fun-loving mother to her three children, Tyler (Kiersti) Roberts, Nicholas (Samantha) Roberts, and Lynsie (Brady) Tolbert. She was also the beloved Grammy to her sweet grandchildren, Emma, Abigail, Saige, Theodore, and Rainey.
She was an interior designer in her own right-at least when it came to her own home. Every picture frame had its place, every pillow was fluffed just so, and don’t even think about moving a decoration an inch. She had an eye for beauty and a knack for making every space feel just right-cozy, welcoming, and a sanctuary for her family.
If you knocked on her door and she didn’t answer, she was either up in the mountains, or quietly in the backyard, hands in the dirt, making the world around her a little more beautiful. She loved hiking, camping, boating, and riding 4-wheelers, and she was a Dutch oven pro. But what she cherished most was doing those things with her family by her side. For her, it wasn’t just about the adventure-it was about creating lasting memories and meaningful traditions.
Teri was a woman of service. She served faithfully in multiple callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served anywhere from Primary teacher to Camp Director to being in the Relief Society Presidency. No matter the calling she always fulfilled it to the best of her ability. She had a strong testimony of the Savior and the Plan of Happiness. In her last breaths to her family, she bore her testimony of her beliefs and assured her family that the Lord had a plan for us all and that we would all be together again.
Teri had fought a long and difficult rare auto immune disease known as Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma) for the past eight years. During this trial she continuously turned to the Lord for guidance and support. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, she received many priesthood blessings that brought miracles of healing and she found peace knowing that everything was in Gods hands. Even in the end, she never complained and humbly submitted to the Lords will.
We want to give a special thank you to the department of Pulmonary Hypertension and the Intermountain Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Personal at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, for helping Teri through this challenging time. The medical staff did a wonderful job helping her feel comfortable and she had a deep appreciation for their love and care. A special thank-you to her pulmonologist, Dr. Mark Dodson, for being with her through the whole process. He was her favorite.
Thank you to our family, friends, neighbors, and ward family for mistering to us during this difficult time.
