Terrie Dority

June 22, 1951 — December 26, 2025

Sandy, Utah

Terrie "T" Lee Dority, 74, of Sandy, Utah, passed away December 26, 2025. This world welcomed Terrie on June 22, 1951. She was the first daughter of Harold L. Sullivan and Gertrude V. Steggell. Her parents were later divorced, and "Trudy" married Robert W. Eaby on December 24, 1959.

Terrie's mother suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on May 14, 1969, when Terrie and her younger sister, Kathie, were teens, and they had two younger siblings, Jeff and Peggy Eaby. She graduated from Granger High School with a broken heart in June of 1969, just before her 18th birthday.

She married her high school sweetheart, Michael V. Syrett, but they were later divorced. They were the parents of two wonderful boys, Jonathan, born March 27, 1971, and Aaron, born September 16, 1972. In 1981, she reconnected with an old flame, Michael K. Dority, and they were married on September 8, 1983.

T graduated from nursing school at Weber State and soon after became an RN. She eventually went to work at the University of Utah Hospital, taking care of newborns and mothers. Terrie later became a charge nurse and later a nurse manager. She tried to treat her staff with the utmost respect.

She enjoyed going to Hawaii and relaxing with her family. She was a rabid "Utah Utes" fan and enjoyed going to the games with Mikie. He used to say it took him a year and a half to explain what a "first down" was, and she was a high school cheerleader—go figure. She loved sitting in a packed, dark theater and watching a great movie. Terrie enjoyed watching her grandkids playing soccer, dance at recitals, and play in music recitals. They are all so talented.

Her greatest assets were the love she had for her family and the strength she showed throughout her life, especially during her later years. She didn't look the part, but she was a fighter to the very end.

Terrie leaves behind her husband, Mike. Sons Jonathan (Heather) Syrett, Sandy, Aaron (Renae) Syrett, Daybreak. Stepdaughters Stephanie (Rob) Miller, Blair Oklahoma. Rebeca (Theo) Dority, stepson Jeff Dority, Blair, Oklahoma. Sister Kathie (Keith) Fletcher, Douglas, Wyoming. Brother Jeff Eaby, West Valley City. Sister Peggy Eaby, Salt Lake City. Grandsons Forrest (Brittnee), Chandler, and Caleb Syrett. Granddaughters Dylan, Avery, and Presley Syrett. Terrie got to hold and love her great-grandson, Milo Syrett, before she left us. Granddaughters Shannon Buford and Sydni (Matt) Hernandez, grandson Patrick (Kassey) Eden, Blair, Oklahoma. Great-granddaughters Tahlia and Mary Anna Hernandez; great-grandson Cap Eden, Oklahoma; and finally, her favorite neighbors, whom she adored, Max and Katie Santisteven, Sandy.

Terrie Lee,

When I awake, I think of you, your smile, your love, your strength, the things you do, when we first met, our love was new. It seemed impossible, but then it grew. When life is sad, and I am blue, you know the answers to pull me through. If you weren't with me, I have no clue, where I'd be, not having you. I love you dearly, I truly do. When I go to sleep, I think of you, -Mikie
