Terry Lee Ewell, age 75, passed away on November 11, 2025, Veterans Day, in West Jordan, Utah. Born on February 17, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Terry served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in the 101 Airborne Division as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971. He studies Art at Utah Trade Tech. Terry chose the profession of Heavy equipment operator and was a proud member of the Local 3 Union. He was passionate about creating beautiful multimedia creations and painting, gardening, and motorcycles, and cherished his family above all. On June 30, 2007, he married his loving wife, Mary Ewell, with whom he shared many happy years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ewell, who was privileged to raise three sets of children. Sherry Steed and Michelle Lemon (Tony Lemon). Tammy Ewell, and John Ewell; and step-children, Amanda Bear (Patrick Bear) and Tera Houston. A third bonus set of children/Grandchildren were raised in the Ewell household: Schaunilia Shay, James Mayer, and William Draper. Terry was fortunate to have many Grandchildren: Michael, Alice, Julie, Amy, Brittany, Kristen, Tristan, Aiden, Rylee, Schauna, James, William, Ana, Ava, and Mercedies. Great Grandchildren: Liam, Owen, Lainey, Anthony, Harlem, Sawyer, Isla-Saleen, Franky. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Marian Allred, George Allred, and his brother, Michael Ewell.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on December 1st, 2025, at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to gather and honor his memory.
