Terry Lynn "Bear" Jamieson, 64, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on March 10, 1961, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Terry was a man whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Affectionately known as "Bear" by his siblings for his towering height and deep voice, Terry was both a formidable figure and a source of warmth and kindness. His strength was not only physical but deeply rooted in his spirit-he was a protector from the very beginning. Even before birth, he shielded his twin sister Tina so well that her presence remained hidden until their arrival into the world.
Terry's life was marked by devotion-to his faith, to his family, and to the simple joys that brought him peace. A man of deep spirituality, he found comfort in prayer each night and cherished the visits and blessings of missionaries. Church attendance was important to him whenever possible, and his connection with God remained a guiding force throughout his life.
He had an innate curiosity and courage that led him to embrace new ventures with enthusiasm. Whether it was tinkering with tools or mastering tasks at work, Terry took pride in being efficient and capable. He had a natural talent for fixing things and enjoyed the satisfaction of doing things well.
Gardening brought him joy and tranquility; he found solace among plants and soil. He also loved listening to his father’s records which was a pastime that connected him to cherished memories. Fishing and camping were among his favorite activities, offering moments of peace in nature that he treasured deeply.
Above all else, Terry loved his family fiercely. He never gave up on them and remained a constant source of strength through every challenge. His children-Brittany Jamieson, Cody (Ashli) Jamieson, and Beau Jamieson along with all his grand kids and great grand kids were especially dear to him. They remember him as the strongest man they’ve ever known-a blessing in their lives whose love will endure beyond this world.
Terry is also remembered by Wally (Rose) Jamieson; Glenn Jr. (Jenny) Jamieson; Bob (Terry) Jamieson; Kim Cook; all his nieces and nephews; Kristy Kimble; and the daughters and son-in-law of Patricia Hamilton, his most beloved best friend.
He now joins those who went before him: his parents Kay and Glen Jamieson; his twin sister Tina Jamieson; and his nephew Cory Jamieson.
Terry’s legacy is one of resilience, love, faith, and quiet strength.
Though he has departed this life, the warmth of his spirit remains with those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn him today and may they find peace in knowing that Bear’s love endures always.
