Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and our hero. Terry was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Bernard and DeNelda Manning where he was raised with two brothers and a sister. Later on, Terry moved to Salt Lake City, Utah he met his first wife, Cindy. The marriage didn’t work, but together they had their daughter, Dawn, who made it worth it. Eventually Terry met the love of his life, Barbra, at a bowling alley in about 1986. Their bond grew quickly and Terry easily took on a father role to Barb’s three children, Brandon, Janell, and Quelinda. Terry and Barbra welcomed their own son, Terry Jr, to the world in 1988 and they were married shortly after. Terry and Barbra have spent the last 37 years hand in hand and happily married.

Terry spent 42 years proudly working for Salt Lake City. He became a boiler operator and did maintenance on many historical buildings in Salt Lake City and eventually was a supervisor. Day or night, Terry was a dedicated and valued member of the city who could always be depended on when things went south or when an extra hand was needed. He has been both congratulated and harassed throughout the years. Terry received many accolades from mayor and judges.

Terry was always there to answer questions and could always be counted on to pick up when called. He had a great ability to fix things - if he didn’t know how, he was always willing to pick up a book and learn. Terry was a man of many skills who was always willing to help out and teach his family as well. He taught his children how to fish, camp, enjoy the outdoors and just take in the world. He set the standard high for his children and they have always looked up to him. We will miss you dad.

Terry is preceded in death by his father, Bernard; mother, DeNelda; brothers Bernard and David; sister Iris and daughter Quelinda. Terry is survived by his lovely wife, Barbra, daughters Dawn and Janell (Rodney), sons Brandon and Terry (Jessica), and nine grandchildren.
