Thomas G Smith, long time Salt Lake City resident, made it to his 92nd birthday. He died peacefully in his home Monday morning June 22nd 2009, surrounded by his adoring family. He was born June 21, 1917 to Keith and Helen Smith, sheep ranchers of Daggett County, Utah.
Thomas was a devoted family man first, He will be remembered for his love of peace, outdoors, fishing, education: Yale University, Michigan Law, and U of U, service to country: Officer in WWII and 20yrs in the Army reserves, Boy Scouts, books, dog walking, puns, and thrift stores.
He is survived by his wife Beth of 66 years; his son Frank, and daughters Kathleen Roberts, Marilyn, Diana, and Valerie Smith. Thomas also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kenwood 2nd Ward, 1765 E. Gregson Ave (3080 S.), friends and family can visit Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., and at the church Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
