Travis Shane Albrecht

Travis Shane Albrecht was born on June 6, 1986 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  

He was the son of Kim Albrecht and Dee Anne Dailey and the brother of Jason and Tyler Albrecht.

Travis passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2023 with family around him and in peace and comfort.

Travis was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida which left him paralyzed from the waist down and a learning disability but a true passion to love. Travis had well over 100 hospital stays with multiple surgeries starting when he was only a few hours old. Travis and mom would joke that "we don't stay at hotels, we stay at hospitals around Salt Lake City." Many thanks to all the doctors, nurses and medical teams who have taken care of Travis over the years.

Travis was like a glow worm, he would inch up to you and glow with a smile on his face that never left your heart. 

Travis achieved many outstanding awards in his life.  He was a darling poster child for the Festival of Trees in 1989, received the President's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement from President Bill Clinton in 2000 while attending Bennion Junior High, and the Impact Award for demonstrating excellence in character from Copper Hills High School in 2002. Finally. he received the Fraternal Order of Eagles Physically Challenged Award in recognition of hard work, determination, and the ability to overcome physical challenges in 2011-2012.

Travis enjoyed volunteering, putting hundreds of hours in at Jordan Valley Hospital with his Grandma Darla, IHC Hospital, Jordan Valley School, Hancock’s Fabric Store and the Independent Living Center.

He enjoyed knitting, bowling, paper shredding, watching people, playing on his iPad and sharing his colored pictures on Facebook. He also loved texting to check on his family and friends.

Travis was loved by everyone. He was known for his smiles, laughter, witty comments, jokes, being social, pure, and not afraid to ask any questions. He loved camping, 4 wheeling, boating, going to restaurants, limos, seafood, sushi, coke, brownies and his dog, Tanzee. Travis was Boujee before Boujee was Boujee. He loved the finer things in life. And always asked what's for dinner?

We want to thank everyone who loved Travis and for all the Joy and Love you gave him.

Travis is survived by his father, Kim (Kristen) Albrecht, mother, Dee Anne Dailey, Brothers, Jason (Bielle) Albrecht and Tyler (Nikki) Albrecht, his nephew, Ashton, nieces, Taylor (Charity), Kaylee and Mia, Grandma, Reva Dailey, and 1 great nephew, Rowan, 13 uncles and aunts and many many cousins. Preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma Albrecht, Grandpa Dailey and Uncle Kyle Albrecht.

His Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 27th at Memorial Murray Mortuary at 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. Viewing at 11 AM, Memorial Service from 2-3 PM.
