Val Edward Wilson married Mary Jean Arko on August 5, 1971.

Hobbies: Val loved to read. He loved The New York Times newspaper. He would cut out articles he thought other people would find interesting and mail them. He archived a vast collection of obituaries from many papers. In fair weather he loved to go plinking, scouring the desert for rocks, and loved to visit ghost towns. He loved painting, and art. One last hobby, his employment with the Utah State Archives. It’s not work if you love it! He was with them for 36 years and helped countless people. Making friends with his fellow employees, he would make them collages with rocks and any other items he would save. Old watch parts, toy pieces, costume jewelry, etc.

Val is survived by his children: Alan Edward Wilson (kid Johnathen Wilson), Matthew Hazen Wilson, Lisa Marie Wilson) husband Trevor Hodapp, (kids Tyler Hodapp, Austin Hodapp) Phillip Joseph Wilson (kid Landon Wilson). His brother: O.E. Wilson (wife Pat Wilson, kids Kenneth, Brent, and Marilyn) As well as his in laws: Albert Arko, David Arko (wife Bea), Catherine Arko, Jenny Mariluch, and Michelle Zukovsky.

Val is preceded in death by his dad: Edward Thorton Wilson, mother: Hulda Salina Berger, grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
