Valene Taylor Woodbury
February 14, 1948- Sept. 26, 2022
Salt Lake City, UT—Valene was born on Valentine’s Day in 1948 and was given her unique name as a parental reminder of how she was their special Valentine. She grew up in a loving home surrounded by parents and an extensive number of extended family who she cherished deeply. Valene married Cleon Woodbury on Oct. 20, 1966, and created her own family built on love and sacrifice she mirrored from her childhood experience.
She was a graduate of West High School and was always proud to be a panther.
Valene held many leadership positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was through this service that she gained many life-long friendships and the joy of sharing her personal testimony of Christ with others.
She is survived by her husband Cleon, sister Cheryl (Paul) Lamont, daughters Kristine (Mark) Tanner, Cassie (Ryan) Merrell, sons Michael (Nicki) Woodbury, Mark (Jamie) Woodbury, Ryan (Laura) Woodbury, 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
