Valnita Mary Rosquist, age 94, of Murray Utah, passed away on January 24, 2026, at Riverway Assisted Living Center.

Valnita was born on January 20, 1932, in Logan Utah to John Vernon Bartschi and Mary Matilda Groll. She grew up in Providence Utah (suburb of Logan) and then later moved to California when her father secured a job with Lockheed Aerospace. Val met her husband, Whitmer LaMar Rosquist in California where they were married on December 20, 1950 in the Mesa Arizona temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Valnita was a devoted wife to her husband Whitmer LaMar Rosquist and mother to her children, Bryon Lamar, Ronald Lee, Gary Jay, and Karin Christine Rosquist.

In her younger years, Val was an active snow skier, water skier, windsurfer, certified scuba diver, zipline granny, mountain biker and transportation specialist driving her children to the numerous activities they were involved in. She was an avid gardener and an accomplished seamstress. She and LaMar loved working in the St. George temple.

Val is survived by her children Bryon LaMar Rosquist (Patti Rosquist), Ronald Lee Rosquist (Celeste Rosquist), Gary Jay Rosquist (Georgia Rosquist), and Karin Christine Rosquist (Maria Rivetti) 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents John Vernon Bartschi and Mary Matilda Groll, her husband Whitmer LaMar Rosquist and her sister Renee Martin.

A grave side service will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary at, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan Utah on January 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The grave side service will be held in the cemetery chapel because of possible inclement weather and then the grave dedication will proceed afterward. There will be no viewing.
