Vernell B. Loveday

1927 ~ 2023

Our sweet, amazing, beautiful and strong angel Mother took her son’s hand as he led her to her heavenly home. Mom passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023 in Stockton, Utah with family by her side.

Mom was born August 14, 1927 in Deweyville, Utah to James Lorin and Winona Sylvia Christensen Burbank.

Mom grew up in Deweyville, Utah until at the age of nine, her family moved to Tremonton, Utah.  She enjoyed her growing up years on a farm and being raised with her two sisters and baby brother.  Mom attended school at Bear River High and was proud to be a “Bear”.  She continued with her class reunions up until a few years ago.

Mom learned to crochet at the age of eight and started cooking at an early age.  Mom’s cooking could not be beat! She was an amazing cook!  Her love for you shone through on what she fed you.

Mom’s favorite calling was that of “Grammy”.  She loved her grandkids with all of her heart and holds a special place for each of them.  She enjoyed supporting them in all of their activities and you always knew Grammy was there cheering you on.  Grammy also loved all those adopted grandchildren at all sporting events she attended.

Mom was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was so Christlike.  She took out her temple endowments many years ago and that was something she was most proud of.  She made many friends through her church callings and attendance and loved those relationships.

The best word to describe Mom is STRONG.  Mom was married to Reed Jensen – later divorced.  She then married Lewis Loveday – later divorced.  Mom was an amazing single Mom and she never wavered in letting us know we were loved and supported.  Mom loved us all unconditionally and supported us in all we did.  She was proud of each of her kids!

Mom was an amazing person!  She will be missed so much but we take great happiness in knowing that she is reunited with her son Lonnie, her parents, great-grandson Kayson, her sister Florene and her nieces and nephew that preceded her. She also had a special bond with her aunts and uncles, who she was excited to see again.

Mom is survived by sister: Jean (Al) Ewell, brother: LJ (Cissie) Burbank.  Her cherished children: Kenneth (Dar) Loveday, Lisa (Richard) Lee, Todd (Tonita) Loveday, Lu Ann (Eddy) Aalders, Gayalee (Stacy) Buckley, Tawna (Bret) Russell, daughter-in-law: Jerry  Burbank as well as her many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, and her special friends.

The family would like to thank Lucelly, Dayna and Angie with Canyon Home Health Care for their tender and loving care of our Mama.  Mom wanted to add a special thank you to Tawna and Bret for opening their home to her and taking such good care of her for the last 3.5 years.
